Ceramic ceramic is the best option.
Headers chrome or ceramic.
The finish is not as bright as chrome but they will remain a nice silver and not discolor.
The ceramic will lower the temps in the engine compartment quite a bit over the chrome.
Stainless steel headers can also be quite shiny when they re polished but they do discolor to a hot metal shade of tawny gold fading to cobalt blue around the hottest areas.
For headers or exhaust manifolds i prefer having them ceramic coated.
Summit racing carries steel stainless steel ceramic coated and chrome headers from the top manufacturers including hooker dynatech schoenfeld hedman hedders bbk performance edelbrock kook s borla and more.
Just ask before you buy.
Note all ceramic is not the same.
The headers can even be touched shortly after use.
You can coat or re coat your own headers with a ceramic coating that the engine heat bakes into a hard coating after sand blasting your current headers and its good at hiding minor welding flaws if you need to replace a bent header tube.
Keeping the heat in the header helps with making a bit more power.
If the headers you choose are coated inside and out even better not sure which companies only coat the outside.
I say do it once and do it right personally i will be going with stainless i like the bassani set up.
They will stay good looking for the life of the header.
They are unaffected by oils.
Overall the ceramic coating just holds up alot better over time looks better imho and dissipates heat much quicker than chrome it s also called a thermal barrier btw.
The engine compartment stays significantly cooler.
Ceramic is better for sure helps keep the heat in the headers which helps scavange exhaust a bit better plus the rust factor although it would take years for the chrome ones to rust out.
Ceramic is a great insulator.
Most of the difference in the two coatings is durability.
I would not think one would see substantial power difference from one to the other at least not on a n a application.
They have a chrome colored ceramic coating if you want the bling factor.
