Greninja Mat Block

Mat block is a fighting type move introduced in generation vi.

It only works on the first turn the user is in battle. It uses swift movements to confuse its enemies while it slices them up with throwing stars made of compressed water. Apparently had a fateful encounter at lv. Prior to generation vii it was the signature move of greninja.

Using a pulled up mat as a shield the user protects itself and its allies from damaging moves. Mat block should not be used as it is predictable lacks priority and leaves greninja with only three usable moves after its first turn on the field. This does not stop status moves. Mat block protects the user s team from physical or special category moves but not status moves.

Prior to generation vii it was the signature move of greninja. Gunk shot can be used to hit sylveon and gardevoir both of which have high special defense and can take greninja s special hits. In the past water shuriken and mat block were its signature moves.

These throwing stars are sharp enough to split metal. It is also the only pokemon to learn mat block which shields the user s side with a flipped up mat.
